The Queensland Government has cancelled construction of the Queensland Cancer Centre until at least 2031, putting patient lives at risk.

This is devastating for all Queenslanders. The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) is the only specialist hospital in Queensland to offer bone marrow transplants and specialist CAR-T treatment. Queenslanders requiring specialised cancer patients to travel from all over the state to be treated at the RBWH.

We know RBWH cancer services are under immense pressure - there are not enough beds and many immune compromised patients must share 4-bed wards.

Queenslanders requiring specialised cancer patients to travel from all over the state to be treated at the RBWH.

We know RBWH cancer services are under immense pressure - there are not enough beds and many immune compromised patients must share 4-bed wards.

The Queensland Cancer Centre was desperately needed and shovel ready in 2025, with extensive planning done and funding from state and federal governments already allocated. The Crisafulli Government then took the decision to cancel the construction till 2031 and beyond. Queensland patients can not wait.
